what does the crank sensor do? and i need it? can i install a crank sensor on to 95 motor? thanks.

well if it was a 96 you could but looks like you got jipped.( need more info that might help).

 

i need to ref my car..the only motor that i can find is a 95b16b. im going to use a 96 head so the ref wont trip..since i have a 96 and if i remeber it has a crank sensor. so if the 95 doesnt have one, the check engine light will be present and i wont pass the ref. thanks. or anyone has a 96 ls block i can get? located in so cal.
