Default M2B4 question

I hit a rock the other night and I took out a large piece of aluminum from the clutch housing. Does anyone know if the clutch housings are the same as the non-LSD, or is the M2B4 an entirely different casting. Insurance wont pay for a new tranny.

Did it drain the oil? If it's just the clutch housing you might be able to patch it up. The housings are usually different.

Nope, its in between the two bottom bolts. Flywheel is exposed. It's not going to be repaired, I don't have the pieces that broke off. It's big.

M2B4 JDM LSD I am 99% sure the answer is no the clutch housing of the M2B4 can't be swapped with anything other then another H/F Factory LSD housing. Reason being LSD trans up in that area of the LSD unit is larger then a non LSD transmission.

Thanks ESP, thats what I was thinking/afraid of. Ive been wanting to sell the car for a awhile now, this wont help. 9 years of driving a slammed civic finally caught up with me! Anybody have a Euro R or Type-R tranny they want to get rid of?

Gotta ask, if you want to sell the car, why not just put in a standard tranny, maybe sell the cracked M2B4 separate?

Well I havent had serious buyers and drive the car most of the year. I dont want to go to a non LSD, and to buy a regular tranny and say a Quaife woud be just as much or more than sourcing an upgrade to what I have now. Plus, how much am I gonna get for damaged M2B4?
