Default Wider rim/tyre vs weight

Hi guys,

Currently drive an EP3 and run 225/45/17 A048s on a 17x8 ET38 rim.

I'm looking to move to Enkei RPF1 in 17x9 ET35 with 245/40/17 A048's, I understand the basic benefits but would like to hear from anyone who's made a similar change as to whether they saw improvements? and were there any negatives other than cost..

Thanks,

Rob
