In helms it says use only genuine honda fluids...but as you know, how would never say use some other product, and that honda stuff is like 17 bucks for a gallon, and this is even premixed (so they double gip you).

I want to buy some prestone and make a 50%/50% concentration and just use that....
Would that be ok?

 

Just use oem, they make **** specially for our car for a reason, it acts well with our aluminum heads and has the right concentration etc...

 

I just bought Honda coolant too.

 

You should only use Honda coolant. Boron and Silicates I believe are the two chemicals in most coolants that Honda does not include due to them causing damage to aluminum I believe.

I would stick with Honda if you can afford it...you may be alright with some "safe for aluminum" stuff, but Ive also noticed it contains those 2 chemicals.

 

aww fawk...i guess i need like a gallon now and a gallon later...thats 34 bucks, plus the caliper clip, 8, plus the washers, another few bucks, and MTF.....thats close to 50
