Default Adjusting the clutch to ensure clutch disengagement.

87 CRX Si stock. (D18A1 I think)
I want to ensure my clutch is 100% disengaging. Then I can figure out if I should pick up a new tranny or if its just grinding cuz the clutch is not disengaging..

Anywhooo.. Should I be adjust the adjustment nut thats right above the tranny or should i be messing with the pedal? Pedal seems normal. I am having a hell of a time turning the black adjustment nut. How do you guys turn it? Thx!

It's the one above the transmission. That adjusts the cable.
