it stumbles though all rpms, and the tach bounces around also. ive replaced wires plugs cap and rotor ( the usual thought process that never works). when i bought the car the idiot put a chip in there that lets it rev until it spins itself apart. would that have something to do with it? i know it has a new fuel pump but the fuel filter i dont know about. im confused? help please

 

i'd replace the ICM. Small box inside distributor. the one the wires connect to. pull them off, unscrew two phillips screws and replace that piece.

also......my car is a 90 crx si...........why does it have a d15b7 in it? shouldnt it be a d16a6?

well even when i ran the vin it came up as an si. and its getting worse, its stumbling while doing everything except idle. fuel filter, distributor? im lost man, im super ****in lost!

yea bud i would rush to change that ICM. I've had my car even cut out when driving it got so bad. any d series distributor should have the ICM that works. Since the ICM is what sends the tach signal, it would cause the car to jump along with the tach when malfunctioning. If you cant get ahold of just the ICM get a new distributor..I may have an ICM I could ship to you if your interested let me know
