stroker kit
so im trying to figure this out. i want to run a g22 swap but i wanna stroke my f-series block, but i also wanna run 20lbs of boost on v-tec. . but the question is, is the h22 stroker able to be used? i have been doing some reading an was told that even tho the h22 stroker ups to a 100mm stroke it still destrokes the f22 block? an that you are to use a f23 crank instead? should i just opt for the h22 block? thanks in advance.
A 100mm stroke crank built for an H22 is still going to be a 100mm stroke crank in an F22. Have to watch for the main journal sizes. H22/F23 = 55mm mains and the F22 = 50mm. IIRC There are F22 stroker cranks (F23) that have the mains machined down to 50mm.
brain crower makes a stroker kit for the h22 with 50mm mains. so i can just use that stroker kit then? an why were people saying that the h22 destrokes the f22 if you can use it an still get greater stroke?
Yes it would work. However, You would be going pretty thin on the stock F22 sleeves if you use the 87mm pistons. You would probably be safer running the kit with the 50mm w/custom 86mm piston option. just my 2¢.
Using an OEM 90.7mm stroke H22 crank in an F22 would destroke the F22. Don't get hung up on the "H22" part. You have to look at the stroke of the crank that you are referring to in order to determine whether or not it is a longer stroke (Stroker) or a shorter stroke (destroked).
H22 = 90.7mm (short stroke)
F22/H23 = 95mm (long stroke)
BC stroker kit = 100mm (longer stroke)
H22 = 90.7mm (short stroke)
F22/H23 = 95mm (long stroke)
BC stroker kit = 100mm (longer stroke)
