Drain the water and put in a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water, make sure you properly bleed the system.

I would hit up your local bone yard and find and install the overflow/reservoir tank, there is a reason it is there.

If engine temp seems to stay normal, rad fan(s) turn on when they are supposed to the the problem is your temp. gauge, sending unit, [ECT sensor] or the wiring between them.

A rapid up and down change in temp. gauge readings, [without engine actually overheating] is an indication of air in the cooling system, try bleeding it.

Without knowing the MM&Y of the car, what year of car the engine harness is from and where on the engine the blue wire is, there is no way to know what the lead is for.

The ECT sensor has two (2) leads, [red/white - green/black or green/blue, 94-98 Integra and red/white - green/white 90-93 Integra. 94

In my 94 LS teg my gauge doesn't even move unless I let it sit and idle, then it'll go to about 1/3 of the way, and 2 miles down the road, back to zero. Doesn't overheat. I just figured it was because of the full rad and not a half, so it just stays really cool.

That is not necessarily a good thing, around 190 degrees F is normal engine temp., the rad fan will turn on at just over that, the engine runs best at normal engine temp., a cold engine is inefficient, it wasts fuel, it will be low on power.

The ECT sensor is constantly feeding engine temp. to the ECU/ECM so it can adjust A/F ratio, a cold engine runs rich, [poor gas mileage].

You need to change your thermostat it is most likely stuck open. 94

Yea, I just bought the car for winter while I rebuild my h22 civic. I haven't done anything besides change the oil in it and I've had it for over a month now, lol.

Guess I better go over it this weekend.
