You might get a free bee if you hassle them long enough. Some dealerships cover them but only once because the gears are so close or something that makes it easy to accidently slip it into 2nd gear, I'm not sure what it is called but It may work. Try going to http://www.clubrsx.com
and do a post there because they are more RSX informative there.Hope you have better luck.Good Luck.

This happened to my Type S. You should get one repair under Acura Goodwill...here is my service papers so you can see.

This is only page one..on page two it shows my total which if warrenty would not have covered would have been 8833.43...but you can see near the top it shows, covered under acura good will.

I didnt tell them anything- they will know. Your ecu will tell them everything, mine told them 9191rpm@69mph. Either they'll be nice and cover it, or they wont. I dont care anymore cuz now I have a base auto

no its strictly up to the dealer, ive read on CRSX of people getting turned down all the time, its a matter of how nice your dealer is, if they wont do it the only other options you have are paying for it or get your car towed to another dealer and hope they do it.

Also if they do do it expect your car to be in for at least a week...my car was in 7days plus a weekend getting fixed.

the dealer that I went to, said that they've covered 2 under warranty to be nice. Once from a mis-shift, and one from a kid w/ a CAI running through a deep puddle.

Metro Acura out on 10 near Montclair is awesome, they are quite nice about warranty coverage. Just ask for Andy, he hooks me up all the time.

Okay, after trying to decipher that I understand how you can grab second when trying to get fourth.

The nasty grinding noises didn't tell you to stop before the gears engaged?

I would say that 18 lbs of boost would exceed ANY dealer warranty.....

I am really sorry but anyone who blows there motor is a dumb ****. You should not be redlining if you don't know where your gears are. It is straigh down.

Preface: I don't own an RSX-S nor have I driven one.

I have heard from a good many people, inc. several whom I consider excellent drivers, that the shifter/gates/tranny on this car is a recipe for disaster. Gates are close, shifter is not as precise as the GS-R, and tranny synchros are so 'good' that you can slide right into a lower gear on any upshift, including 1st on an attempted 2-3 upshift. Automotive journalists have grenaded these engines in testing. You are a jackass for making a blanket statement like this. I'm not going to sit here and say 'I hope you blow your engine', but if you do, I will definitely give you a big [nelson muntz voice] HA-HA! [/nelson muntz voice].

I agree totally. I test drove one three weeks ago. Coming down the onramp onto the freeway, I hit around 7k in 2nd gear, then went for the upshift. Now, in my rod-linkage EJ Civic, there is a "return spring" so that if I want to do a 2-3 upshift, I just push the stick forward, and the spring will center the gear lever, and it'll slide into 3rd. I assumed that this would be the case for the RSX-S.

I hit 1st.

Fortunately, the decel spike quickly tipped me off that the gearshift went into 1st and not 3rd, and quickly hit the clutch... revs in 1st never went above 6.5K fortunately.

Try getting it repaired under warranty. If it won't work at one dealership, try another!
