Upgrades and Aftermarket info
Since I just bought an Accord and still used to buying parts for a V8 I have no clue as to what parts I should get. I know there are a lot of d-bag parts that do nothing and I avoid those but the thing that is getting me is ECU Tuning, any ideas for me?
You have no need for ECU tuning unless you are building the motor (Cam(s), high compression, bottom end, etc.) or going the forced induction route.
The typical "bolt-ons" like nicolaselias mentioned (Intake/header/exhaust) don't do a whole lot, so the stock ECU is perfectly fine. You can tune for them all you want, but it won't be worth it.
Only the newer generation of Honda engines (K-series, S2000 F-series) can take advantage of "hand-held" engine management software/hardware (K-pro, etc.).
If you are going with one of the two routes I suggested above, then you may want to look at stand-alone engine management (Hondata, AEM, etc.). You will also need to convert to OBD-I.
This is just basic info though. Please consult the Engine Management & Tuning Sub-forum for more detailed information, or just search this one.
Good luck!
