B20 VTEC Build Question?
hi everyone,
am new to this great community, but ive been part of it in a passive way? (query only), but finally i have a question that i want to ask.
i have a DC2 97 LS integra with a B20 VTEC, when we were building the engine i told him about the guide published here https://honda-tech.com/forums/all-motor-naturally-aspirated-44/how-build-%22reliable%22-lsvtec-b20vtec-1676914/, but he told me that the pumps(oild and water) are not needed as explained in the guide, we used the ARP head studs, but i dont remember using the rod bolts, we used all the OEM seals mentioned and fuel regulator, but the other stuff weren't used.
i understand that the most important parts missing in this build are the pumps (oil and water) and the arp rod bolts, whats supposed to happend if those parts are missing in my build?

it has been assembled already, am using it right now, but there are somethings funny, and i want to know if those things has something to do with the current behavior of the engine right now.
after i've been using it for long period, like 2 hours (doing shorts stops, the temperature starts to raise, i have to stop the car, and let it cool down, and later check the coolant level, last time i checked it was almost full, completed it, and let it cool even more, then i can use it again.
that overheating problem is driving me crazy, am almost selling the car and getting a stock honda civic.
