Default ebay catback exhaust system review.

so i decided to go ahead and buy an ebay exhaust against my better judgement to see how it is.
i ordered a full cat back exhaust from KOSpeed2008( im sure many of you bought from them as well)
got the exhaust and it looked reasonably well made it was shiny and new.

i finally got a del sol to put it on and the problems started one after another.

had a nice quality top fuel exhaust that fit great and didnt rattle or sound like a fart can but it was loud( but very clean sound)

i put this on and it hits the body in 4 different spots(either because the piping is shorter or its just crooked when welded)
the angle pipe is sagging and theres no hanger like it was on top fuel.

the muffler melted the **** out of my bumper in few days. cuz the tip was pushed against the botom of the bumper.

and to add to everything else the flanges leak like theres no gaskets in them at all.

i even tried 2 different gaskets and tried bending them back to get better seal in the middle but they stretch out again after few days.

the exhaust is not beeing pulled anywhere its hanging pretty loose now i had to extend the header/flexpipe to make it fit.

heres the link to the exhaust( which btw is not even same muffler as pictured)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...witem=&vxp=mtr

heres the axleback flange when i took it off today(thats the gasket that came in the package)
the package was falling apart and few nuts and bolts were lost before i even got it.

You get what you pay for. Now everyone should know not to buy from random ebay sellers.

My grandfather used to say "A hard head makes for a soft ***". After all the warnings you went ahead and bought it anyway. I would feel bad for you but I don't.

warnings?
i dont really care if you feel bad or not im just giving a quick review of the exhaust.

there are ones with better flanges for like 20 30 bucks more.

i didnt have 600-900 dollars to spend on a brand name exhaust system at the time

What's the purpose of a review? Everyone, including YOU knows Ebay knockoffs are crap. All you did was provide pics to further illustrate that point. And how cheap does that makes you that you couldn't drop another $30 to get a supposedly better system?

For what you spent you probably could have taken it to a shop for cheaper.

No issue. Just wondering how someone can somehow forget Chinese knock-off parts purchased off of Ebay are NOT the crap everyone knows they are THEN come and start a thread stating as much. Who's trolling? Maybe you need a post-it stuck to your monitor for the next time you forget. Same goes for anyone else reading this thread.

that exhaust and all the ebay exhausts are sH*T why would you even buy one like that?? you probably paid what 200 dollars or something for it? and for that money you could of found a Apexi WS exhaust and had a nice non RICE exhaust this review of a cheap exhaust is useless its like me going to the supermarket getting a rotten apple seeing that its crap and still biting into it and than bitching about it you obviously must of seen it coming if you have 900+ posts on this forum you can't tell me you've never seen the phrase "You get what you pay for with ebay" on this forum because a lot of people get crap from ebay waste their money because the gaskets bust or the exhaust rusts in 10 days and than they go why was i so dumb.. well you're falling into this category don't bitch at people because they're telling you that you wasted your money because you obviously did sorry to say but do it right or dont do it at all

it was about 100 total with shipping lol

thats why i got it. even if it was a complete fail it wouldnt hurt my pocket too much.

but its cost 100 and its worth 100 dollars... i wasnt expecting magic from it.

just posted it here for evereyone else to see what it is so you know exactly what you getting.

i mean it didnt sound too bad its just leaking flanges like ****. and a bit of a fitment problem that was solved by extending the header which was going to be welded anyway.

in my case it worked out just as i expected it but someone might be buying it with an expectation that it will perform same as 400-500 dollar exhaust. it will not.

just like the tri-y headers i purchased they did bolt up well and had no fitment problems but the exhaust flange is not the best welding job in the world.

i couldnt find a mid pipe for less than 200 dollars so i bought this instead to use with my ITR muffler which i did.

wrona maybe you be so generous and buy me a 600 dollar exhaust system it will be greatly appreciated.

again like i said i knew what i was buying but posted so more people know.

i dont know where the hell did you see that i was complaining, i simply stated my experience with this exhaust system.

can yaall read properly before posting replies and accusations

There are more than a couple of places that sell exhaust piping kits that don't run you $600+.
Here's one with piping. Add resonator and muffler.
http://www.mandrelexhaustsystems.com...EXHAUST/Detail
Here's another.
http://store.kteller.com/kteller/kte.../i-403745.aspx

So overall all you've illustrated with this post is that you were too cheap to do it correctly. "Look at the utter crap I put on my car" pretty much sums it up. No one really needed to see that knock-off exhausts from Ebay are worth every penny you pay for them.
You could have gotten a stock setup from a junkyard if you were in a bind.

I bought one of those exhausts for my old civic. knowing i was already going to sell it. It didnt sound too bad. The kid i sold it to seemed to like it as well. I didn't have that car too long so notice the drawbacks. Needless to say on my new civic i spent the extra cash on a real exhaust at a muffler shop. Magnaflow doesn't sound too bad. Got the whole 3 inch straight pipe with Magnaflow muffler, custom downpipe and turbo flange for 345.
My friend bought the whole header exhaust deal on ebay for his accord and i know he goes through downpipe gaskets like no other. I agree they just aint worth it.

Best brand you can get on Ebay is SR*S. I bought one years ago when they started with just selling them online. Now they stepped up and performance shops in my local area carry the brand. It's not that loud because they set it to pass the sound test from CA. Overall it's the best bang for the buck. Less than 300 for most brands like WRX, 350Z, Scion TC, Integra, Civic, etc. I bought it about 3 years ago at $175 shipped, and the price went up to 200+ before shipping

i've even bought a CHEAP n1 exhaust from ebay. ran it on a '93 civic sedan through a horrible Ohio winter and it help up great AND fitment was perfect to begin with.

not EVERYONE is out to get you, and if you think the part is trash, make sure you can return it. it's all pretty simple. and all company's make mistakes every now-and-again.

but seriously. ebay threads are getting super fahking old!

you can try stacking a pair of gaskets to solve the leak, but those flanges look rather thin.

gl fixing that.

Sometimes with ebay stuf you may never have a problem, other times you have problems the second you open the box. I appreciate this post cause i now know for 100% im not going to buy one lol. But sometimes you get lucky and you need a cheap fix. Im actually running a custom 2.5 inch exhaust to the cheapest ebay muffler you can buy (it was like 30 bucks i think) i bought it as a joke and put it on my dads tractor with a 4 inch flapper (it was f***ing funny lol) but my muffler rotted out (it was almost 6 years old) and i need something to get me by and it doesnt sound to bad (doesnt sound good but it doesnt crackle or anything).

EBay is not the way to go. Get name brand even though it may be more expensive.
