is going past 6000 pointless? is there less torque in the higher rpms of a non-vtec motor?

It is pointless to rev past 6200 or so rpm with a VTEC F22 because the cam profile is not designed for it.

Don't forget the Accord was made to be a family car and good on gas.

Although, I personally think it's the most attractive honda ever made (especially mine ). If you're serious about making some good power with it there are several things you can do depending on your goal and budget.
