hx wheels
Hey, I've got a set of HX wheels and i'm about to paint em bronze to use during the winter and at the track. my question is?
-do you think 14 inch bronze wheels would look nice on my 91 red hatch.
- what tires and size would be good for both the track and winter driving? (does such a tire even exist?)

u r talking about the steel wheels with the honda center caps right? I particularly don't like bronze rims (reminds me of a pimps car), and i couldnt imagine those rims bronzed. to each his own though. If u like it go for it.
yea the wheels are pretty light. I think something like 11lbs (correct me if I'm wrong). I dont have a upclose pic of them but this will give you the idea. http://www.edmuds.com/edweb/cars/media/1149833.jpg
ah now you guys got me in a dilemma.. all bronze or gunmetal with a polished lip. What would be the easiest way of making the polished lip if the wheels are silver to begin with?
So can anyone help me on tire selection. What series/brand would be good for both winter driving (in ohio) and summer track use?

just mask off the lip and the insides of the rim, spray it with some Krylon paint... there must be a way to make the silver a little more "polished" looking. i think you have to keep sanding it with finer and finer sandpaper or something, not quite sure.
I've got HX's on my '90 hatch, they're painted black.
I dunno what to tell you with tires. I've got some Azenis, but they're not recommended at all for rain. Gonna have to buy some All-Season tires.
The size I am using is 195x60. No rubbing or anything.

Luckily in southern california, we don't have to worry about "winter" season cause the coldest it gets is about 65 degrees. It's like one season here.
And the HX rims are tight. They look sort of like Integra Type R rims.

I think the HX rims would look pretty nice in bronze or flat black. Just get a set of rims for winter with winter tires, they will handle like *** in summer, and Im not that knowledgeable about tires, but I dont think there is a great compromise between the two maybe an 'all-season' type tire and they arent so great
