Weird wear marks on piston
I'm in the process of pulling my H22a apart to replace the piston rings and head gasket. I noticed that my pistons and the cylinder walls had some weird wear marks on them. Does any body know what might be causing this or how to fix it? Thanks I greatly appreciate it.

I wasn't going to re-selve it if I didn't have to. I remember someone telling me that these FRM walls cant be honed or can be honed very little but i'm not sure if that is correct. Also should I then get oversized rings for the pistons if I hone it?
as much as you're going to hone it, yes. talk to a machine shop that knows how to hone FRM sleeves. do not go to one that doesn't. you'll pay for it down the road
Yea I took it to someone who said they could hone them, and they royally Fu*ked my block up. In the end I had to pay for the hone and the sleeve. I'd call Sunnen and ask them. They told me a way to properly hone them. They said to use a special graphite stone and finish with some silicone polish. I lost the number for the stone and polish though. You want FRM to be polished smooth unlike cast iron honing where you want a nice cross hatch. Not many people even know what FRM is. Most will tell you it's Nikasil... which I'm pretty sure it's not the same.
