What other tools did you get? You can't do a paint job with just a gun...
There isn't a whole lot of variation in white cars... Just various shades of off white.

i didnt get any other tools just the gun but i will be gathering all the tools to do the bodywork as time goes on. i just wanted some opinions, so please be a douch and tell me GOOGLE. i have tried that and am curious of what other like to see.
I think pearl white looks bad on older cars. It is much more suited to modern body lines. Keep in mind, if you decide a pearl white, the only proper way to do it is as a tri-stage which takes more time and money and technique. Personally, I like the toyota ultra-white but the differences in whites are pretty negligible unless viewed under the proper light. Cream colored cars can look nice as well if that's what you're in to.
If you want to paint ANYTHING, you will need:
-A BIG compressor.
-A suitable workspace with VENTILATION
-A GOOD respirator or organic vapor mask
-A D/A sander (air powered ones are cheaper and better than electric ones, if your compressor is up to it.)
-A few different hard and soft blocks for sanding
-Lots and lots and lots and lots of sandpaper
-Mixing utensils (beware of plastic cups, urethane will melt them and make a mess. Pyrex is good for this purpose)
-Good lighting (preferably) to tell where you've already been, what coverage has been reached and also to show any dings/dents you missed.
-Some real masking paper (wax sided, urethane resistant.) Real auto paint will eat through newspaper and you'll end up with a painted windshield.
-Some real masking tape. Meguiars and 3m both have some good stuff. You'll want both a fine line tape for fine masking and a thicker tape for securing the paper.
-A body hammer and general purpose dolly. Depending on the condition of your car, you can possibly get away without this. Very helpful in the right circumstances though and more permanent than slathering on bondo.
- A good eye for colors and for bodywork.
-Lots and lots and lots of time.
-Paint.
That's about it!

yea i know it is lots and lots of stuff but really dont like paying someone for something i can do myself. i guess i am just going to do championship white. i think the workspace is the only thing that is up in the air. the rest i can get or have access to pretty easily.
