Braking Traction when shifting gears
Wonder if you guys can help me on this issue. Im braking traction when shifting gears from 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd, and 3rd to 4th. 1st through 3rd is really bad. Tires just keep spinning until traction is reached. Im braking traction for about 3-7 yards from 1st to 3rd. 3rd to 4th gear, my tires chirp. The surface is clean asphalt ( you know, street racing industrial park surfaces ). The tires im running are the bridgestone potenza SO-3's with tire pressure at 23 psi. What have you guys done to your suspension in order to gain traction ? Have you changed tires ? Thx for the help.
Damn...
What are you mods?
You must have a killer clutch to chirp 3-4.
If you can't get any traction, try easing the clutch a bit more. Otherwise you could shift early from 1-2nd where the engine has less power, maybe won't spin so bad.

Thx for correcting me
Basically, im power shifting through-out the gears. Shifting points are at 8800-9100 rpms. Just got me car tuned by Steve of Skunk2. I don't have a crazy clutch. Just a ACT street clutch with a lightned type-R flywheel. Im thinking about running 205/50/15 falken azenis at all 4 corners at psi set at 20-24 for dragging. Have anybody done any suspension work ? Thx in advance.

You really need taller tires, to stop the traction lose, it sounds like the car has power, so taller tires should help in stopping the traction lose, Also ofcourse the type of tire, s03's are good , but most of the guys I talk to prefer softer compounds, have you tried a set of street slicks?, If your axles can handle it, it will really improve the cars feel and et times,

Thx guys for all the suggestions. Im gonna try different tires ( Nittos 555, etc...) from other buddies cars and see what happens. I'll keep you guys posted. Thx again.
