Default EM2 Auto Stage 1 Cam Dyno

I won free dyno pulls at a raffle at Cars and Copters back in September 2011. I took the car on Friday (down pour) to Kaizen Tuning to see how much difference the stage 1 cam makes. The dyno in question is a Dyno Dynamics 450DS AWD dyno, I was told it tends to give lower figures compared to other dynos.

Car specs when dynod:
-120k miles on engine and tranny
-21mm RSX rear sway Bar
-Bilstein struts/shocks
-Neuspeed Strut Bar
-AEM SRI
-Eibach Pro-Kit Springs
-Crower Stage 1 cam
-bomerman19's BBK
-Russell SS brake lines
-Ingalls camber kit (F+R)
-OEM Fogs w/switch
-EP3 OEM wheels
-Michelin Primacy MXV4 tires (high mileage)
-Everything else is stock

Results, not very clear though, gurus feel free to interpret, couldn't get torque curves.

Shootout

Pics of the car on the dyno.

I believe you forgot to say what's your engine?

Because the results may be good or bad depending on the engine you have!

Considering he said everything is stock, and its a Crower stage 1 cam, I'd bet its a D17A2.
I'd say those are pretty good results taking in the fact that it's an automatic transmission.

^Depending on the dyno, condition of the engine and whether it's auto or manual, between 90-105whp.

With the dyno runs did they do a tune also? Just curious as with the cam you might be able to squeeze a bit more with a tune.

Numbers are with stock ECU, can't tune with stock ECU. Not doing any more mods until parts fail.

Most people hit around 125-127whp with a stage 1 cam tuned on k-pro.

No doubt, if you have k-pro stage 1 doesn't make sense.

Spend the extra $300 on upgrading the valve train and $150 for a short dyno tune, buy a stage 2 cam for the same price as the stage 1 and make 145-149whp instead.

Wouldn't you lose out on a lot of the fuel efficiency too though?

Of course, but nothing to significant.

Besides, if your spending $1600 on aftermarket parts for your engine, fuel efficiency from a cost perspective isn't usually much of a concern. That $1600 is enough to drive 7500kms if you want to save money lol..
