on my 90 crx si,
i just kind of noticed recently that when i open my door to get out at night, its dark and
not triggering the dome light to go on, but when i also try turning the dome light on using the switch it does'nt go on that way either ? would this just simply mean i need to replace with a new bulb for the dome light ??
also seems like almost around the exact same time i noticed my clock on the dash has not been working either, just not on and blank or dark ? would these two things be linked in anyway to a certain problem or thing to check ?
any help would be appreciated, thanks

ok, i'll do like you said and first just check the fuses under the dash to see if any are blown or not , and go from there, and you said you think the same fuse controls the dome light, clock, radio and cigarette lighter ? usually i would check and see if all of those things on that circuit are all off or on or whatever, but i can't because my stereo (radio) was stolen so i don't have that anymore and my cigarette lighter light has not worked forever since some car stereo installer guy did'nt bother to connect it up right after he did the stereo install.
by any chance do you know of any tricks or modifications you could do in order to have a lot brighter interior light on a crx ? cause it would be great if i could do something to have a brighter light, cause the factory little weak dome light barely even lights up anything except the little area right beneath where the light is, but if you need to see stuff around inside your car at night time like read something on a map, look for something you dropped between the seat or whatever, then the stock one just is'nt bright enough to be of any use. (just thought i would ask in case you knew of anything, but i know its kind of a different subject than this post i made)
thanks,
- Jon

EDIT: You can try connecting the power (red?) to the ground (black?) with a jumper and see if that fixes it, but just a warning that may cause some problems like blowing a fuse or frying something.
That's your problem, for some reason the Honda gods routed the dome light power (and clock apparently) through your stereo. Once you get an new stereo installed it will work again, or you could mess with the wires to see what transfers the power through. I had the same thing happen to me, got a new stereo and it worked again.

the dome light, clock, cig lighter, and constant power to the radio are all on the same circuit. it is a 15 amp fuse from the factory. sounds like the wiring from your radio shorted out when your stereo was stolen. tape up the wiring till you get a new deck and replace the fuse and you'll be good to go.

yeah that does sound like what probably happened, how you said it was probably caused from the stereo being stolen and the wire shorting circuit out, i just did'nt think of that.
i was meaning to organize the wiring since the breakin, and take any wires out that were leading from rear (where the 2 amps were) to the front, since i would'nt need them anymore since no amps anymore, and cause they are exposed ends in rear since they are'nt attached to anything anymore, same with the big fat wire that leads from the amps power all the way thru firewall to battery, and that probabl is'nt good having a wire like that with an exposed end in hatch area right ?
so i need to take the wires not needed out and leave ones needed for future when i get another head unit or amp etc....,
but for now you say i should tape off the ends of any wires that used to go to the head unit ? i guess i could do same with any other wires i see that were left exposed ends after the breakin.
yeah probably just putting that fuse will be all to solve this, and if not then new dome bulb and fu#k the clock since it shows the time on my cellphone anyway.
thanks for your thoughts on it
