How long do axles last when you start to hear clicking?
1997 Honda Civic DX
- I only hear a clicking noise when turning left, Im guessing it's the passenger side axle?
- How many more miles could you drive till the axle gives out?
- I sometimes hear a whinning noise (Kind of like when you run out of power steering fluid) coming from the front passenger wheel when i get out my driveway every morning?
Im a slow "Granny" Driver and daily drive to school roughly 25 miles a day.

You could probably put it off for several months. It will get worse, of course. I'd start saving for a replacement now.
The whining noise could be a wheel bearing. Keep track of it - it can take some other part with it if the bearing overheats.

remember, you dont have to replace the entire axle. you can replace the individual cv joint, if you can find out which one is bad.
Thank's for the info guys.
I plan on replacing the entire axle.
But should i replace both axles while im at it?
Also is it true that you have to change the transmission fluid when replacing the an axle?
