96 Civic - completely stripped phillips screw holding battery fuse in hood fuse box
well i have a 96 civic and my battey fuse blew so wen i went to change it i noticed it was completely striped.does anyone know how a way that i could use to get this screww out.....plzz helpp!!!!!
a trick i like that works fine on small fasteners with low torque- a spring punch (spring loaded center punch) on the outside of the head of the fastener. first make an indention then "push" it at an angle to get it to turn. I hope the graphic below explains well enough. I didn't spend much time on it.

I prefer this when working around electrical components because it eliminates the little metal chips from drilling the screw out.

if you can still get a slot for a flat head to fix, then try a electric screw driver. Preferably a 18 volt. You'll need to bear down on it real hard, i'm talking all your weight and try to back it out. If that doesn't work you can still drill it out. It's about a 30 - 1 hr job to drill and extract the pcs of what left of it. By that point you can put in a new insert.
Use a dremmel and cut a slot in it, so you can use a flat head to get it out. You might have to cut into the sides of the fuse box. Not sure if there is a small enough cutting wheel.
