Default integra build

Hey HT,

So I'm working on swapping in a b20v into my car. The reason I'm doing is bc my lsv started smoking from the valve cover and from the oil dipstick, but not from the exhaust pipe.

So I found a b20 shortblock, I'm just going to swap my head onto the b20 block. My only concern is I don't want my motor to start smoking like the lsv, I was reading that I need to take it to the machine shop so they can drill and make a breather in the back of the block so that crank can so called "breath."

I've been reading a lot on this b20vtec motor, I just need some personal advice from people that have done it and had great results in reliability and performance.

ok here's the list of stuff I have:
b20b block (stock pistons)
pr3 head p&p, dual springs and retainers
p73 manifold
itr cams
arp head bolts
itr oil and water pump

waiting on the 83mm golden eagle head gasket

Let me know what you guys think, and what things you guys have done differently, keep in mind I'm on a budget (poor college student)

oh yea my old ls had p30 pistons, but I don't get why is started smoking, I never took it passed 7.5k rpm any ideas

your gunna make good power with what you listed i would say Easily around 180whp area depending on how good the porting is.

If it were me i would do arp rod bolts, and bump the compression up with some itr style pistons or something at least around 11.1

As far as the smoke from your last motor did you plug up or clog up the breather box/pcv or something?

i left the breather box open the one on the back of the block(as in not connected to the intake manifold, and block the nipple from the intake manifold), after the smoking i connected the breather box to the intake manifold and notice that it didn't smoke from the valve cover anymore, but the rev went up to like 2.5k rpm and it was sucking in air from the valve cover breather.
do you think its a bad head gasket?

Now back to the b20, I notice that the b20 block doesn't have the breather box on the back of the block, do you guys recommend to take it to the machine shop so the can drill and install a nipple to reduce crank case pressure?

thanks guys
