Default Transmission Replacement Advice

Hey guys it looks like my tranny is finally giving out on my 03 HX 5 spd Manual and I got an ex tranny 01-05 and im about to put it in this weekend. I know the EX has shorter gears which i dont mind at all and plus ill be putting a new clutch in so i can get it all done at once. I was wondering the difficulty of doing this. I have some mechanical background done clutch replacements and lifts on trucks before but nothing that is FWD. I don't have an engine hoist and i heard you can do the job with a jack and some blocks to help hold the motor up. Anyone have some DIY threads i can follow or advice. Thanks in advance.
