well my car died tonite while driveing 2 blocks from my house had to push it home ugh and now when i try to start it it smells really bad like rotten eggs a friend of my with a gsr said its cause the cat is clogged someone please help daily driver

 

do you have any more background information?
also what motor? mods? etc etc

 

like what kind of background info its an si everybody knows whats in the si b16 only mods are cat back exhaust and aem intake

 

Rotten egg smell, typically means bad cat.

 

thats what a couple of ppl told me it sounded like it wanted to start but as soon as i left off the key there was pressure comein back thru the engine makin a weird noise

 

i don't think a bad cat will not let a car start.

when you turn the key to the number 2 position, can you hear a click near the glove box?

 

yea thats the main relay i already checked that

 

How is the battery?

Do you have a multi meter?

What does it do when you try to start it?

Can you hear it cranking?

 

battery is only 2 weeks old when i try to start the car it just cranks and i smell gas llike i said last night after it happened it sounded like it wanted to start but when i left off the key i got back pressure thru the intake and my friend told me thats cause the cat is clogged

 

Do you have a spark tester? at least see if you are getting spark.

 

no i dont have a spark tester cani just pull a wire and check it like that and wich one or how do you reccomend

 

one easy way to check if you have spark is take out a wire slide a screw driver in it and place near a screw in the bay or on the vavle cover and check for spark

 

someone told me to pull a plug and put it in the wire and check it like that

 

ok ppl its all fixed cat was clogged so guess what i did yea you guessed it i gutted that thing yea i know its gonna throw a light but that doesnt matter im gettin my new chipped p28 witha jumper harness tomm im swithing to obd1 so it will never happen again
