Default quick question with probably an easy answer

Im in the process of a Koni-GC set up on my car and after i took everything out and took off the spring i noticed that there were no rubber bushings under the strut cover (refer to pic........ #13 ) I see these bushings in practically every diagram and am curious if its something i should buy new and put on or if i dont have to worry about it. Might be a noob question but i cant quite find the answer for it so im asking for help.

btw i realize that is a diagram for an accord I didnt feel like re searching for specifically a prelude but the components are all relatively the same.

The bushings help with bottom outs, without them, your struts can blow more easily

Yeah thats what i figured but shouldnt stock shock and struts have these bushings? All i saw when i took the cover off was a metal spacer with this grainy material around it. Now either the bushings were so bad that they corroded away or this "soil like" material was used as a substitute to reduce the impact on any bottoming out.

Or someone replaced the struts at home and either forgot to put them back in, or took them out for some other unknown reason ...

haha my other thought. Thanks i appreciate the info. now gotta find a place to pick some of them up. actually now that i think about out i dont even kno if the stock bushings would have fit anyways because of the thicker rod with the konis
