cruise controls works but will shut off randomly
I've got a DC4 that the cruise control works but it will turn off sometimes. I haven't pin pointed it to any certain condition but the cruise will just stop working and I'll start to decelerate. When this happens it will normally let me set it again but sometimes I have to turn the cruise power off and then back on and it will let me set it again.
Anyone know what might be happening or where I should start?

Most likely a problem in the CC control unit, maybe as simple as a cold solder joint on the circuit board.
I would start by checking all the connections related to the CC, unplug them sray a little contact cleaner, and reconnect. 94

Thanks fcm. I wasn't sure if cruise control had a ecu or not. I knew about the motor assembly under the hood. I'm going to check the connections and if they look good I'll probably buy a used replacement ecu.
The CC ecu on 98 integra should be under the dash by the fuse box correct?

It might be your break sensor switch. When you touch your brake pedal your cruise control Will shut off. If the sensor is bad it might be flickering without you knowing it. It is a cheap easy fix ! Good luck
it's on the firewall near the fender.

i had a loose cable reel connection under the steering colum that was messing with it.

Hi original poster,
When you said the cruise control stop working after a while, do you mean the "Cruise Control" canceled and the light on dashboard turn off, or you mean the light still on, but it is not able to maintain the speed?
If the "Cruise Control" light turn off on dashboard, then it could be related to the brake sensor switch like other member suggested
BTW, do you inspect the vacuum hoses for the cruise control system? Any hose that are harden? They could cause vacuum leak, and can't maintain the speed while Cruise Control light is on. My old Honda Prelude is doing that when Cruise Control turn on, but car loosing speed. It occurs more frequent in winter as the hose is harder and leaks more in winter
