I remember a write up about this on the now defunct HP.com, but I dont remember the details. I took my taillights off and tried heating them up to pry the cover off and there are some "tabs" that look like they hold the assembly together even if there were no adhesive... Does anybody have detailed instructions on how to get the taillights apart? satan_srv I know you have this mod how'd you do it?

 

heh those tabs are part of the entire back part of the light. breaking them isnt that big a deal though.. i broke one. yes there is adhesive.. a lot of it. you cant see it though. just heat it up.. pry.. heat it up.. pry.. PATIENCE. <- dont say i didnt warn you

 

Supposedly someone threw the lights in the oven at 250deg to loosen the adhesive.

 

cool thanks i'll try again... I think that I may need some more patience, when it didnt work the first time i gave up quick... What adhesive did you use to put it back together?

 

I'd try some winshield adhesive. That stuff works pretty good for the cars we've built.

 

300 degrees here. make sure you pry them very gently!
