your civic is obd2a so if your doing a gsr swap you would want one thats a obd2a also to make it the easiest. 99/00 si mounts would be the easiest motor mount wise as long as the shift linkage. search the forums and you should find threads about this or even search google for info.

obd2 isnt always the easiest to swap he is still going to have to change some plugs and if he is getting obd1 he needs a OBD2 to OBD1 harness also any B series Shiftlinkage will fit besides the Del Sol Vtec B16A3 linkage and he needs the SI Side mount bracket

why does everyone say to go OBD1? if you have an obd2 car, and you get an obd2 motor, obviously stay obd2 unless you plan on heavy tuning.

HOLD IT RITE THERE BUDDY =D.. that motor ur planning to get is gonna b JDM motor... JDM motor is different from USDM motor so therefor you will have problem passing emission or inspection... about OBD1 or OBD2 really doesnt matter... its just the jumper harness and the ECU.. jumper harness are around 40 to 50 ish... and ECU is around 75-100... reason people change from OBD1 is that you can have more option to play with then OBD2... even if you use an OBD2 ecu.. you gonna have to add CFK.. to add that you need USDM oil pump.. and crank sensor possition.. then you need to add a vtec switch... the obd2 will read out all them sensor... how i kno? cuz im having trouble with my car... wat best i recommend you to get is a USDM motor... all you need to find a complete swap... use bseries motor mounts... ur harness wire just add the vtec.. obd2 ecu or obd1 dont matter... only time that matter is the inspection or smog check time..

K thanx but I can't find a usdm motor online from a trusted site and I know there isn't any being sold around here and I don't need to worry about smog checks
