new guy needing some swap help b18a1 auto into a 92 auto 4dr civic
Ok so I have neevr really messed around with the honda world to much till now.. My wife had her oldd civic that the motor went out in... It is a 92 4 dr civic with the 1.5 non vtech motor and is a automatic... I just picked up a complete setup from a 91 integra ls the b18a1 with a automatic transmission wiring harness ecu and everything... I have been doin research for the last couple days and keep getting confused on what I need to do to make the swap work in the 92 civic...
This should be a drop in plug and go swap right since both are automatics and everything correct?
What all needs to be done?
Any help and info would be great...
Thanks in advance...

It's not worth it the ls auto tranny is going to rob any power gains you think your going to achieve.
plus you gotta notch your frame cause ls auto tranny's are massive...plus they are built for **** and have no aftermarket support...unless you buy g-force trannys at like 3-5k a pop.....
need a tcm/ecu which you civic doesn't have would have to use the whole integra harness and ecu's.

So this can be done all i have to do is wire in the tcm and ecu out of the teg... I understand it wont have the power that the 5 speed swap would have.. But Iam putting this in my wifes first car that died on her a year back and she got a 2010 civic then and let the 92 sit and i came across this motor and trans setup and she doesnt know how to drive a 5speed and would perfer to have the auto in it.. So I am goin to tackle this monster head on...

Not going to happen, at least not easily, '90 - '91 Integra is OBD0, '92 civic is OBD1. Conversion harnesses aren't normally setup to be used with an automatic. If you had a '92 - '93 LS swap it'd be a lot more doable.
i see people saying it cant be done, but as far as i know you MIGHT just need a after market tranny mount look it up, i just put a b18 into my 95 civic sedan.. i used a 5sp trans
SOOOO many people gave me wrong parts and the wrong asnwers i spent 600 when i should of spent 5 (yes i am a dumbass for buying the wrong parts but i trusted the answers on honda tech...)
you will need a new harness, ecu, dizzy and rear t bracket and SHIFT LINKAGE (94-95 ls or gsr integra).. message me im sure im forgetting somthing i cant think of right now... its a pretty easy swap, but i wish i would of had mine done at a shop i cant get my ****ing idle right!! good luck man!
the harness swap is easy, the ecu swap is well if you cant get your ecu swapped just run your car into a river hahahah and the dizzy is kinda hard you might want to look that up before you pull yours off
your 1990 integra is obd0 unless you converted it to obd1..
your civic is obd1 so this is why you need a new harness and dizzy + ecu. look that up too

you bored right now? or mad??
you didnt read what he said.
he also said "WHAT ALL DO I NEED TO DO THIS SWAP"
so i told him i had a 5sp so he didnt ask me any questions about the auto trans..
alright im not here to argue
he has a 91 motor, so i simply wanted to help him out by telling him what else he needed. because i had trouble finding the right answers on here the other day
and yes i knew he had an auto the whole time, i said i had a 5sp so i didnt have to answer any questions i didnt know the answer to...
if you know alot about engines could you run over to my thread and give it a look? "b18 into 95 sedan, idle problem"
thanks

well everyone has almost made me want to do this automatic swap to show that it can be done.... from everything that i have read researched and have basic knowledge show that it can be done with what i have to do it.. But then on the other hand I am debating on just change the whole plan on the swap and go boosted ls 5speed since i dont think the auto tranny will hold up to well to boost.....
