Icon2 88-91 Honda civic disc brake conversion

I'm new to Honda-tech. I have been searching for specifics on doing a rear and possibly front disc brake conversion on my 1991 Honda civic sedan.
I have heard that if you do the rears you have to do the fronts as well because the rears are bigger than civic fronts. I am curious if I will need custom brake lines and about what car I can get them from. I've heard any integras will do. I have also heard that the brake booster has to be changed! Idk! Someone please give me some good info! I am ready for this conversion! Thanks!

When you go with rear disc brakes, you do not "have to" go with bigger front brakes. IMO, it is better to change them all at once (including MC/BB) because then you don't have to bleed the brakes all over again.

Cool think I pretty much figured it out

Rear Disc Conversion

1. 93-97 delsol or 94-01 integra or 99-00 Si or "some" 92-95 Civic Si trailing arm assembly.

2. delsol/Si rear brake lines (if you use integra trailing arms/calipers you need INTEGRA brake lines...they have a COMPLETELY different caliper attachment that WILL NOT work with delsol/si calipers).

3. 99-00 Si Emergency brake lines (integra lines will work but they come together into a single rubber floorpan grommet which you'll have to hack up and you could hear wind noise, etc under the carpet).

4. 99-00 Si Master cylinder/proportioning valve (you can go with integra parts but you'll have to flare lines, etc) the Si stuff is drop in.

yeah i think your confused with EG/EK...

for your ef sedan this is what you NEEEEEEED:

1) 90-00 integra rear trailing arms complete with rotor, caliper, brackets
or
90-91 crx si ones OR 92-95 civic ex sedan ones

2) 90-93 integra sedan OR coupe ebrake cables ..... all other ones will be too short.
Some people say you can use 94-00 ebrake cables but i tried and it's about 1" too short unless you don't plan on mounting the cable lines in stock location.

What you could do as optional:
3) upgrade your sedan MC to EF EX sedan 15/16 MC....
if your not tracking your car I would tell you to not worry about upgrading the BB unless it's broken.

4) 4040 ppv from 90-93 integra RS or LS(non-abs) bolts up to stock ef ppv and has same flare lines as your civic

5) upgrade front:
really all you need is a better brake pad.
but if you realllllllllly want tou upgrade you can do this
- use stock knuckle
- get any 90-00 civic EX/SI rotor OR 90-00 integra NON ITR rotor... they are 10.3" compared to your 9.4" rotor.
- go to autozone and order new acura legend calipers and brackets
- get itr brake pads (same size as legend)
- go to hardward store and get some washwers... you'll need to stack probably 2 washers behind each wheel stud and the placed the new 10.4" rotor OVER the washer/wheel stud.
- continue to install & bleed new brake calipers

enjoy....
