need advice with my h 2.2 hydraulic tensioner on my timing belt please!!!
ok this is what happen me and my friend are changing the timing belt on my 2001 Honda prelude and he's kinda of the old school mechanic and he had never seen a tensioner like this so he starts messing with it and breaks it and then the oil leaks out of it omg but he works for a company that works and makes hydraulic systems so he took it to work and says he fixed it and now he wants to put it back in.... Is this a good idea please honest answers ?

Honestly the automatic tensioners are faulty and I wouldn't trust them. I have had two fail on me luckily I replaced before they completely ruined my t belt and engine. Search Manuel tensioner conversion, it will give u peace of mind. It will cost u something like 100$ for the h23 parts. That's my recomendation.
Thanks for the helpful advice guys he eneded up putting it on do you think that it could still mess up or would it have messed up right away?
or you can get this
http://www.kstuned.com/detail.src?SKU=Kai-H22TT&C=&S=
the H23 manual tensioner conversion kit is $89.99 and has a lot of parts you have to replace, whereas Kaizenspeed's H22 timing tensioner product is just 10 more bucks and just requires you to replace the tensioner itself saving lots of time/confusion.
