With a baby on the way and all (mini H-pimp)I needed a small commuter wagon and, the criteria was as follows:

1. The car had to have some type of appeal and cost below $20K

2. WRX Wagon and Jetta 1.8T wagon are priced way high, so those were out

3. Matrix, Vibe, and, PT weren't even considered

4. I've heard nothing but great things about the MP3 & MP5 suspension

5. Mazdaspeed ain't makin a wagon yet

So with all those things considered, the obvious choice was a fully loaded wagon (minus leather). I prefer a 5 spd, but the wife insisted on auto-stick.

Hopefully I can pick it up this week.

BTW: AEM SRI & Intrax springs will be ordered asap!

PSS: I got it for $17,100 OTD!

careful with those intrax springs. My friends got them on his MP3 and due to the springs rates not matching the struts he blew both rear struts NOT under warrenty even though he removed them before he took it to the dealership

don't get the Intrax springs, get H&R. I have a 01 Protege ES sedan and the suspension is far better than most cars (execept the ITR of course so ITR owners calm down!). The car also has plently of low end torque.

 

Yeah, I really wanted the Mazdaspeed Protege sedan, but it had two stikes against it 1. 5 speed 2. not a wagon, but hopefully the MP5 will also be very rewarding.
