Hello everyone. I have a friend with a 99 prelude and would like to know if anyone knows how to take apart the rear view mirror. He will be etching something into the glass so we need to get the glass part out of it. Both of us have looked online with no answers, just how to remove it from the car. Any help would be appreciated!
Carefully pop off the plastic lens to access the light bulbs

There will be 2 screws in there - remove them

Carefully pull the light housing down - i believe there are plastic hooks on the back to slide into the roof so don't try to pull directly down, it's been awhile so i'm not 100% sure if you need to slide it forward or back before it drops down.
You will see 3 screws holding the mirror to the roof - just remove those and you're good to go

Oh, sorry i misunderstood lol. I've never seen anyone remove it - it's common to swap out to a certain year integra rearview and go with a spoon blue lay-in lense. He could do that and just engrave the spoon mirror before insterting it into the integra housing.
