LS hydro trans good for boost in 1/4???

so i have a fully built b16 motor and a gsr trans but my tranny makes a funny noise so im goin to be pulling it off and getting it rebuilt, my question is how good is a ls hyro trans on boost for the 1/4mile time, i know some people use ls fifth and final in gsr trannys, im using 24.5x9slicks if that helps any
That sounds pretty nice. I had a LS trans with 4.4 final and it was nice for my LS motor but sucked on my lsvtec. Now I have a complete LS trans and hate it! My GSR is back together and this time has a 4.266 final and I can't wait to try it out.
GSR trans, get it repaired and never look back, the LS gear ratios arent ideal. The 2-3 shift is terrible and a 4.7 final drive isnt cheap.

The GS-R with the 4.266 loses a lot of acceleration and will be have similarly to the LS trans, unfortunately
I would like to get a B16 final drive and get it into my trans. I have to run a B16 because i have a b16/ls LSD which is why i went with the LS final because i had some laying around and didnt have a gsr LSD so...

My motor makes more torque than I think it should and I plan on making well into the 600's over the winter. I need the extra gear and don't want any taller tires than what I have. I have talked to several people about using the LS final with GSR gears and they absolutely love it.
The car made 309hp and close to 250tq on 8 psi. I would run out of gear trapping 118 with an 8k rev limit with 225-50-15 BFG's. At first I thought it might have been boost cutting but I set the shift light to 7900 and sure enough it came on at the 1000' make and rode the limiter to the finish line.

I like the LS 1-2 shift it's just the rest that suck it seems. In fantasy land I would get a 4.05 final with B16 1-2 GSR 3-4-5. I would only use that trans setup with 600+. Looks like gringoteg likes the way his is setup and so does 2 of the faster guys here locally use it.
Thanks for ruining my dream! J/k. Anything I could do to get more MPH and still have relatively close ration gears without running super swamper sized tires is what I am trying to achieve.
