Are you doing this just do be able to lower the car?

Rear = Cut rear springs (still have same spring rate, or order aftermarket springs. Eibach had a set, but I haven't seen some for a while (I haven't looked in about 3 years since I parted ways with my 87 Si).

Front = Cut the keyway out and do a torsion bar turn.

Why do you say it's dead? Did he wreck it?

New Bushings:

New Torque Arms from these guys, up to 29mm and they run about $280 last I checked:

Tokico Struts, or if you are lucky, a used Tien Coil Over kit....

I've already said what to do for a "lower" suspension. There's a keyway where the splines of the torsion bar go into the lower control arm. Grind the keyway off and then you can orient the torsion bar, which raises or lowers the LCA's depending on which way you turn the torsion bar. Get the 27mm bars (biggest for street use) from the link I posted.

As for the rear, there was Eibach set, that you can probably get used on Ebay now.

There was a custom set of Tien Coil Overs made, I know of 20 sets. I was in on the second group buy, but not enough people got in, so I missed out on them. You may win the jackpot and get a set of those.

If you can't find the Tiens, get Tokico's all the way around. Another option is to cut one loop off the rear spring. The spring rate does not change, but it lowers the rear.

And get the bushings I posted too. It will make everything more responsive. That's the first thing you do on these cars.

So I've said the same thing twice now. If you are still gonna ignore it, that's all you.

I've built a Solo E-Prepared car out of an 87 Si, but I'm only going off memory because I don't have mine anymore. E-AT has built a mean car too and has been around these longer than I have. He still has his, and is probably more up to date than I am.

Hello, i am new at posting so i don't know if i am doing this right. And sorry for hijacking this thread, if i am.

But i am interested in knowing more on installing the torsion bars on the car. I have an '84 Civic and have just bought the 27mm torsion bar. I have sent the car to a shop to instal but they said that it is longer than stock so it can't be installed. Again, could you please guide me on the right track. I am at a loss here.
