What work is involved to put si tranny/engine into a dx?
I'm considering buying a 91 civic DX (hatch) and I'm wondering
what kind of work it is to take out the stock tranny/engine and put in a D16y6 or a6?
oh and is a 91 DX already mpfi ?

its not too hard. you have to pull the motor and tranny, and simply replace it with the si parts.
dx's are not mpfi. back in the years when they made 4th gen civic/crx's the SI designation actually meant something (sport injection). except for the HF of course...

88-91 DXs were DPFI
92+ DX are MPFI
if you do the a6 swap, its pretty much all R+R plus the mpfi wiring conversion.
if you do the z6 swap, its alot more work because now you have vtec to deal with and the z6 is an obd1 motor whereas the 88-91 civic are non-obd, so youd have to do a total conversion from non-obd to obd1 which is a pain in the ***, but if youre up for the work, go for it.
