A question about distributor removal
1991 civic lx 1.5 engine.
I am in the process of removing distributor and noticed a small amount of oil coating the back part of it, which is the metal part.
Is that normal?. I have never changed a distributor before so i wasn't sure what to expect.
Any tips with the install besides that? i pretty much figure to line the holes up, make sure everything is connected, and put the plug wires in the proper place.

On the two pronged part that goes into the head, that is normal since it is exposed to the oil. If you are seeing oil on the base of the distributer (3 legged part that attaches to the head) then you have a bad distributor O-ring.
Probably too late but should've marked where the distributor was in relation to the head. You'll need to use a timing light to adjust properly if you want to do it right. Make sure the two pronged part that goes inside the head is aligned with the camshaft. If you look carefully those two prongs are not centered and neither is the slot on the end of the camshaft where it gets inserted to.
