My friend has a J1 tranny and the casing is craked. How can we fix this, do we just buy new casing? Where can i buy this? I need all help i can get.

make sure to get the full strength jb weld and not the quick dry one. drain the tranny, completely clean the crack with carb cleaner, let it dry, apply the jb weld, let it sit for at LEAST 24 hours, after that, should be good to go.

 

get a wire brush(the ones that connect to a standard drill) and just clean up the crack areas where your going to repair.

Or you could just get it fixed right, and have it welded. JB weld is good, but.... I wouldn't trust it on my tranny. Thats just my opinion, I mean, it would probably hold.. but....

 

you can get it at kragens, pepboys, homedepot, just mostly any hardware or repair places.
