Hey guys,

I'm looking to buy a 2003 Acura TL. I like the look of this car and always have for a while now. Basically what I want to know is what are the pros and cons for this specific car. I know that they are known to have transmission problems, or at least that's what I read on Wikipedia. This specific one has 150,xxx miles on the clock, Black in color and they are asking $4500. What you guys think, good deal?

I only have heard of the trans issues. I think the 03 type-s is one good looking car. While personal preference is it has to many miles for me but you do what you gotta do. See if there is away to find out if the trans has been replaced, if it has how many times. G/L

 

yea...only bad thing about that generation tl is the trans. Very weak. Definitely find out if its got a new trans allready put in and how long ago...odds are its had the trans replaced at least once..and the factory radio/cd changer are garbage as well. Ive replaced so many of those too. If you do get it look into upgrading the factory radio.

Yeah I've read about the transmission recalls on acurazine, and also on wikipedia. As far as the radio goes, I got a Pioneer 7in double din to replace if it does decide to mess up. So no worries on that.

As far as those two mentioned, anything else I should look out for? I'm really interested in picking this TL up.
