Default How can I test a MAP sensor?

96 civic EX

There is an easy way to test a MAP sensor with an ohm meter, if so how?

Also what is the proper working ohm range?

You MUST provide all pertinent information about your car and engine. Failure to do so may result in thread closure.

Measure the output voltage to body ground from the MAP sensor with:

1) The key in ON(II)/engine off (should be ~3V)

2) The engine idling (should be <1V)

You unplug the connector right, I have not looked at it yet, is there metal terminals inside of it to probe? if so which one?

Nothing is unplugged. Back probe the Red/Grn wire in the MAP sensor connector.

yep

Multimeter set to read DC volts in around the 20 V range.

I think so, sometimes with age the MAP will not read correctly, but will not throw a CEL until it is really out of spec.
