having trouble removing the rear view mirror on my 2000 civic coupe (ek).

can anybody tell me how to properly remove it without damaging it?

trying to put a wink mirror on that's why.
and if anybody has any pics or advice on installing a
wink mirror on a 2000 civic ek coupe would also be very helpful.

It's only a glue/adhesive that holds it on, possibly run a razor blade in behind it and see if you are able to cut it off. But besure not to slice your hand open.

 

wrong, you gotta pull off that grey plastic cover, prying down on the long sides, then you will see the 3 phillips screws holding it to the roof

 

Crap I was thinking of how EGs are set up, totally forgot these are mounted to the ceiling. Good save.

 

is it possible if i could just take off the rear view mirror itself instead of having to take off the part that's mounted on to the ceiling, or its all one piece?

 

You remove these screws then you can put the plastic cover back up. 3 Screws hold the mirror to the roof, so remove them, then take down the mirror, and put the cover back on.

Very simple.

The mirror up to the roof is one piece.
