Hey yall, I have a serious engine swap in mind for a 67 VW Karmann Ghia I have
I would like to run a honda engine in it, I have a built DOHC ZC, and I am thinking a S2000 tranny may be my best bet

I plan to make it front engine RWD, but to do this I need a RWD tranny
If I had lots of cash I would get a wrecked S2000 and swap all that in, but I dont so I need to know a few things

First question is: What direction do F series and H series engines spin ?
I know my DOHC ZC spins counter clockwise sitting at the drivers fender, or front of car in a RWD application

#2 is: I have heard that F and H trannys interchange, Is this true & would this apply for the S2000 tranny also ?
As in, if my DOHC ZC rotates the wrong direction to adapt it to a S2000 trans, then can I run either a F or a H on a S2000 trans ?

Im not concerned about adapting my DOHC ZC to a S2000 tranny, I know they have 2 different bolt patterns

There are 2 types of F engines.
1. F20, F22 and F23 engines found in accords which spin counter clockwise.
2. F20C and F22C engines found in honda S2000 which spin clockwise.

H series transmission are only interchangeable with #1 on top.
There is a guy in Japan who has done a RWD S2000 swap on a civic.

 

So a DOHC F20B wont work with a S2000 tranny correct ?

 

Are the only clockwise rotating honda 4 cylinders the K series and the S2000 engines ?

 

it will work if you have a lot of money and an imagination.

And the newer less popular sohc honda engines.

 

Looks like I will be seeing about some reverse rotation parts for my DOHC ZC
