Huh, There's something I don't understand... How come the same tire in 205-45-16 weighs more than in 205-50-15. I mean, the width of the tread is the same but the 16's have a slimmer sidewall meaning less rubber so less weight, right?

Possibly more sidewall reinforcement due to sidewall height

I called Tire Rack last spring for tire weights. I believe they have all weights for all the tires they carry.

yessss this is the tire i just got. that's why i'm broke!!!
but...they were noticably lighter than my falken azenis sports (205/50/15)
the car does seem a tad more nimble.
these tires are GREAT in the rain too. so cali had bad rains this saturday night..
and i drove all night through the rain because of a friends bday party and taking
a girl home too.
azenis slipped alot in less rain. yoko avs es100's sliced through puddles.

if i had to do it over again, i'd choose the yoko avs es100's over the falken azenis
anyday...unless i had spare rims for track use..then i'd pick the azenis.
azenis have an edge on turning..but not by much.

ride is alot more comfy too. and that's important since i'm a daily driver.

bigger diameter = more cord in the tire.

Excelent info

So are the stock RE010's worth the extra money to save 5.6lbs of rotational mass over S-03's?
