wiring harness and computer for mini-me swap
Well I posted a thread about the problems me and my buddy were having with his 92 hatch. D15 block with y8 head and p28 computer. those are all verified numbers. the problem is that it has a wiring harness that looks almost like GSR or something. This is why the car has been running like *****.
my question is, what is the best wiring harness to use for this setup. It has the y8 head and intake (no IAT in the intake runner, but in the intake tube) on a D15 block.
I can either buy a p72 computer and new harness or just a harness that will work with the p28. Which should i use though? I know it should be OBD2 but which one could I use? Links would be great! I am looking to purchase something soon and wire it up so the car will run to its full potential. thanks

You really can use the factory harness with no problems. Even it it was a GSR harness (why do you think that?) it should work fine. Are you throwing any check engine codes? You definitely don't want an OBD2 Civic harness. Unless you think its beyond repair I'd just try to work out the harness that's in it.
well it throws a code, yes, and seems to have the sensor plugs and colors from a gsr harness. I dont have the factory harness in there and the y8 head is from a 96-98 car i think, which was obd2
What code is it throwing. Like I said the GSR harness, if it is, will work fine in a 92-95 Civic. Most if not all the connectors are the same.
a code 10 i believe, which is for IAT, but supposedly this computer and harness wants the IAT in the 2nd intake runner and it is located in the intake tube by the filter.

It's fine where it is. A lot of people put it there. What are the wire colors that the wires that come out of it connect to? Has the car had a tune up? Checked mechanical timing? IAT is the only code?
the wire colors are red/yellow and green/white. car has a new cold air and new plugs. the only thing i am unsure of is the O2 sensor but i dont think it is throwing that code.
Open the ECU, check for a burnt Q31 transistor. If someone mixed up the EVAP purge and IAT connectors at some point it's probably fried and will keep throwing code 10 until you replace Q31.
Your harness you have will be fine. I have a D16Z6 harness on my B18C1, a friend had a D15B7 on his B18C1, the wires and plugs all run to the same locations on the harness.
You need to check your grounds and any connections, corrosion or loose connections are common reasons for error codes or running bad. Make sure everything is hooked up right. TPS and MAP can be switched easily. IAT and evap purge can be switched. Also, check your timing, mechanical and ignition, both easy to screw up. Make sure the motor had the cam gear swapped or it will be 4.5* off one way or another.

still no luck. haven't messed with it for a few weeks because my buddy has been driving it but it still runs the same. drives alright but idle is fail.
