Icon2 1995 del sol vtec / si differences

So i want to buy a del sol, and i found one that had a b16. The kid said it came stock with the engine, so im assuming this is the Vtec model. But how can i be sure that this isnt an si with a swapped b16. i mean, theres no ac at all in the car, a clear indicator of a swap. Im just not sure. What are some obvious differences about the vtec model and the si model?

Does it matter if it's swapped?
No A/C could mean that the A/C was removed. These kids remove A/C all the time for the imagined "weight savings". It isn't a clear indicator of anything.

Look at the VIN. No EG2 not a Vtec model.
