whats up Ht i came across a good deal on a k24a2 longblock with harness.
now i have a couple q's on what products work best. ive been reading up on it but all the threads are from 2009 so which may be updated.
so my first question: on one thread they said the k24a2 head is garbage, is this true? they say to use the k20a2 head but i would prefer to keep my head.
(im planning on having the head stock for a while till i save more cash)
second question: what rods and bearings will be good for this im planning on daily driving it in my eg hatch. i was thinking about blueprint racing rods and wiseco pistons.
any input is greatly appreciated!
oh final question im confused with what engine harness i should use, i have the tsx harness that it came with.
thanks HT

Just goto k20a.org and read alot.
To use this swap you need a 02-04 rsx-s wiring harness k20 transmission. tsx trans will not work. tsx longblock is a good start. A rsx-s head flows better stock for stock. I would keep it stock internals and just do some head work you could probably get around 250 with stock block.
Mostly everybody will reccomend switching to an rsx-s oil pump.

Other than that, why are are you wanting to tear it apart?

That head is fine, that motor is great. You will need several parts from the RSX type s to make the swap possible. 02-04 type s engine harness and charge harness, transmission, o2 sensor, throttle body, knock sensor, crank sensor, and ECU. The TSX is drive by wire, so that is reason for the rsx parts.

i want to have the block ready for when i get the head built, later down the road.
As a lot of people said already type s oil pump or S2k oil pump stock bottom end will be good for a lot of power type s head will work better but you can still make some decent power on the k24a2 head.

Thanks for the help guys. Hoping to have the swap in by Christmas. Finally a good Christmas present lol. So Tim you should be seeing a order from me sometime soon
Another question if I use the 02-04 rsx harness can I use a 05-06 trans? (or does that not matter?)
Thanks
