Default Weird little shields over rear brake calipers

I just bought an EG as a dedicated track car. There are these little shields over the rear caliper that makes changing pads annoying. Can I take these off with no worries, what are they for?

Thx

Yes, you can take them off. Just some sort of shield to protect the calipers.

Are you speaking of the E-Brake mechanism shield? I wondered myself how anything would get in between the wheel and ruin it. Unless it is for brake dust? IDK I removed all my shields for the brakes, makes it easier to inspect and work on and unless you have the shield for mounting a duct you get more airflow.
