exhaust flange vs ss band clamps?
SS band clamp? You mean like you'd use on your AEM intake to connect it to the TB? That will not work to connect 2 exhaust pipes. Even a heavy duty exhaust clamp can allow leaks unless the 2 pipes are mated nearly perfectly. A welded flange with a gasket is the best way to seal exhaust sections.

They are both meant to help join piping. If you have a "slip-fit" joint, the band clamp can work very well.

Typically on a slip fit joint, one pipe will slide within the other. If there is a gap between the pipes, I would not recommend the band clamp.
