Icon2 b16a2 vtec engagement

My vtec i was told was suppose to engage at 5500 rpm. I have a 92 civic eg with a 2000 si motor swapped into it. so why does it engage around 4700? about to go to the track this weekend and just wanted to make sure everything was ok.

vtec only engages once on a gsr.. the manifold flaps open at a diff point to give more power

For your setup you had your ecu chipped so whoever did it chipped it at 4700 rpm. It's no big deal if your going to the track or if you don't mind it kicking in that low
