Default 94 Accord air intake question

I just installed a short ram intake on my 1994 Honda Accord and there is some thing with a wire on it that I just have laying there now. It was in a black box under the original intake system and its a black cylinder. I don't know what it's for or how to better explain it, but what is it and is it important? It was connected to the intake system too; like the black box was.

I think the hot air intake systems do not use this...you just leave it unplugged, unless the directions from the system you purchased say other wise.

When replacing the stock air cleaner and intake tubing, there is a resonator chamber that is activated via a solenoid. Since the resonator chamber and its flapper valve are no longer needed, it will serve no purpose anymore to keep it connected. You will have to trace the vacuum feed for the flapper valve back to the manifold and cap it off. On the EX there was another vacuum tube that received a filter to allow fresh air intake. Not sure what happens on the LX/DX models. I don't recall any electrical connectors left hanging.

You could look up AEMs instructions for verification.

I've got one tube capped off from following the instructions that I got with the intake. So if I just disconnect that one solenoid or whatever it is, everything will still be fine?
